bottle-on-box-small

SALT LAKE CITY, UT –

We are pleased to announce the 2017 release of Red Rock Brewery’s ‘Furlong’.

Furlong is a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout brewed with roasted barley to impart distinct notes of coffee and dark chocolate.

Bourbon barrels are full of intense flavors that are the perfect complement for the roasted dark flavors of an imperial stout. They add a distinct character that stainless steel simply cannot.

Furlong is now available at all three Red Rock Brewpub locations in Salt Lake City, Fashion Place, and Park City Junction.  A very limited sale of individual bottles will take place at the Red Rock Beer Store on January 7th, beginning at 11:00AM.

This is a very small batch of barrel-to-bottle beer and it will sell-out quickly. 500 mL bottles. 10.2% ABV.

Marvella

marvella-bottle-small

Things are not always what they seem. Red Rock Brewery’s new ‘Marvella’ is no exception.

It has an innocent golden hue; a soft and smooth mouth-feel; a smell that reminds you of the small banana candy found in a box of Runts; and it’s easy like Sunday morning.

Marvella is a Belgian Style Tripel Ale. Tripels are notorious for being deceptively potent with an alluring drinkability. Red Rock’s version is definitely true to style.

Alas, the time has come for a big and beautiful beer that has the thrust of an Imperial Stout, yet offers a whimsical combination of flavors for those who lean towards fruity-esters and mild sweetness.

Hop bitterness is barely perceived in this beer, if at all. The pale malts, Belgian candy sugar, and unique yeast strain are front and center. It’s not bottle conditioned like many traditional Tripels, but it’s notably carbonated.

This beer is suitable for reverie or revelry. Either way, it’s a sipper.

500mL bottle. 11% ABV. Cheers!

Forbidden Peach Belgian Style Ale

Forbidden Peach Belgian Ale

SALT LAKE CITY – Forbidden Peach is a Belgian style fruit ale brewed with 700 lbs. of fresh Brigham City peaches and aged in Chardonnay barrels with two different strains of Brettanomyces.  It’s dry-hopped with Citra and bottle conditioned.

The peach aroma and flavors are very light and fresh…like smelling the skin of a ripe peach.  The Forbidden Fruit® yeast strain adds its own complex fruity-ester profile to make this beer one-of-a-kind.

It’s very dry (not sweet); just slightly tart and pours with delicate effervescent bubbles.

We will be selling 375mL bottles at the Red Rock Beer Store at $4.50 per bottle, with a 4-bottle limit.  A larger 500 mL bottle will be sold at the Red Rock Brewpubs to enjoy while dining.

Available at all Red Rock Brewpubs (Downtown, Fashion Place, Park City Junction) and the Red Rock Beer Store beginning Saturday, August 6th, while supplies last.

The Biggest Small Beer Ever

Biggest Small Beer WebsiteThe Big Idea:

Craft beer in America is the envy of every other beer-making nation in the world. Its quality, creativity, and craftsmanship are unmatched both domestically and abroad. We believe it’s a shame that big beer still owns a lion’s share of the American palate. So we’re giving craft beer the spotlight and recognition it deserves by uniting with small and independent brewers for American Craft Beer Week in a movement to #MakeSmallBeerBig. This will help provide a single voice for the craft beer industry, as well as a platform to brew The Biggest Small Beer Ever Made—craft beer’s biggest collaboration in history.

The #BiggestSmallBeerEver

100 Craft Brewers across the country agreed to brew from the same recipe to commemorate American Craft Beer Week. Red Rock Brewery is representing Utah in 2016, with a special draft version of what we’re calling a Brown Porter.  The beer was brewed with Irish ale yeast and chocolate and crystal malts. It’s dark-brown in color and is low in bitterness. This beer is very smooth and pours with a big and fluffy tan head.

Paardebloem 2016

Paardebloem Post

Red Rock’s Imperial Red Ale Has Earned It’s Spot on the Table

Imperial Red Ale

SALT LAKE CITY, UT – Red Rock’s Imperial Red Ale is now working its way into the UDABC stores on a limited basis.

Originally brewed to commemorate our 20-Year Anniversary, the IRA quickly became one of our top-selling beers at Red Rock Brewing. In fact, within our own beer emporium, it ranks second to the beloved Elephino IIPA.

This beer has a very complex malt profile, coupled with a bold hop bitterness that’s in world of its own. Stylistically, there’s not even a “category” for this beer within the conventions of beer traditionalists. To them, it’s a stronger-than-normal Red Ale.

Take one sip and you’ll quickly realize, it’s so much more than that. You become lost in a mental vortex of flavors that surround the toasted malts and resinous hops.

If ever a beer deserved a spot at the dinner table, this is it! 9.5% ABV.

Available at all Red Rock Brewpubs; a limited number of DABC Stores and the Red Rock Beer Store located at 443 N 400 W, Salt Lake City UT.

Furlong – A Bourbon Barrel Aged Stout

Furlong Imperial StoutSALT LAKE CITY, UT – **Sold Out-2015**

We are pleased to introduce ‘Furlong’, the latest incarnation from Red Rock Brewer, Kevin Templin.

Furlong is a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout brewed with roasted barley to impart distinct notes of coffee and dark chocolate.

The rules dictate that a bourbon maker can only use a barrel once.  Spent barrels then travel around the world to be filled with the likes of whiskey, sherry, and more often than not – beer.

Bourbon barrels are full of intense flavors that are the perfect complement for the roasted dark flavors of an imperial stout. The bottom-line is, they add a distinct character that stainless steel simply cannot.

The word is out – Furlong is a big hit among craft beer connoisseurs! This beer is now available at all three Red Rock Brewpub locations in Salt Lake City, Fashion Place, and Park City Junction.

This is a very limited release and will sell-out quickly. 10.2% ABV.

Red Rock Rêve 2015

Red Rock Reve

*BREW PUBS ONLY – BEER STORE SOLD-OUT*

It’s been called “Heaven in a Glass” and “Red Rock’s Most Divine Beer”.

The 14th iteration of Red Rock Rêve, a Belgian style tripel, will be released at the Red Rock Beer Store on Wednesday, March 11th and will be available at all Red Rock Brewpubs beginning Thursday March 12th.

Why is this Belgian style ale so adored?  It’s the quintessential Red Rock Beer. It’s artfully crafted; aged in French oak barrels for a year. It’s bottle conditioned with great care, creating an effervescent cloud of Champagne like bubbles.

Rêve is deceptively potent and has an alluring drinkability.  The addition of Belgian candy sugar gives it an almost-sweet, yet refreshingly dry finish.

How does Red Rock’s tripel differ from the Trappist Belgian ales? It’s not produced in Belgium for starters.  Every tripel from around the world has its own house flavors and aromas.  The unique influences stem from the type of wood, yeast strain, aging and blending processes used to make the beer.

According to head brewer, Kevin Templin, this beer was a game changer for Red Rock Brewing Co. “This is the first beer in which Red Rock really stepped out of the box and brought in some unique strains of yeast into the brewery such as Brettanomyces and Bruxellensis.  These yeast strains have been crucial to adding some of the tart and earthy flavors to the beer.”

“This year’s beer is exciting” says Templin.  “You’ll find delicious aromas of Chardonnay and flavors of roasted fig, bubble gum and stone fruits.”

Rêve is available in 750 mL bottles (10.3% ABV) at the following locations:
